Hi gents, welcome to another season of Experience cricket!
Please please please pay your subs early! We hate having to chase you for subs, so if you can do us a favour and pay up asap we'd appreciate it......and the earlier you pay them, the more money we will have to spend on the team.
In case you haven't heard, first game is Oct 6th
History of the Club
In October 2002 a group of 11 players decided to form a cricket team from scratch into the CSCA cricket competition, the grade…………. 4D!
Initially we decided to call our club the Caledonian D6’s, we did this with the support and sponsorship from the Caledonian Hotel. The D6’s part of the name came hoping we would hit plenty of “6’s” on the field. Not to be.
However a good time was had by all, so we decided to embark on another season of suburban cricket the following season.
We felt that a name change was in order however, just to spruce things up a little, so began the Caledonian Experience dynasty!
October 2003 was the start of The Caledonian Experience as we know it, a talented but somewhat casual bunch of men ,would fashion a record in suburban cricket over the last 3 seasons that would seldom have been matched in any grade!
Season 2004-05 was to be the highlight in our short existence. Having had mixed results prior to Christmas, a win against City Eagles was to be the turning point for us! From there we never lost another game that season, and went on a 17 match winning streak, which would prove the catalyst to us winning the grade that season.
2006-07 saw us unwillingly promoted 2 grades to 4A, and it didn't take long for it to become apparent we were out of our depth. Wins were few and far between, but this only made the winning even sweeter. The loss of our inspirational captain / president for the entire season proved costly, although we discovered several new talents in the process of scratching up 11 players every week.
From the humble beginnings of barely having a team ,til today, we have came a long way as a club, with the hope of one day having more teams under the Caledonian Experience Cricket Club banner.
Future of the Club
As a club, we promote harmony, and a sense of togetherness.
As a team we all like a good laugh, a bit of sledging and a nice cold beer as well!
We are an ambitious club with an eye to the future not only for our members but anyone who wants to be a part of our club or would like to further our stocks. If its social Cricket that your after, or if you feel that you want a competitive game, then this is the club or you!
We currently have 1 team playing in the CSCA 4C grade, however if you or anyone you know are interested in forming another team, please feel free to contact us, we always welcome new blood to the club!
